W. Htfd., Clinton boutiques closing as part of nationwide realignment

Northbrook, Ill.-based Hilco Merchant Resources announced that it will close 118 of its BCBG MAX AZRIA women's clothing boutiques, including locations in West Hartford and Clinton.

The closings are part of a nationwide restructuring that will leave open 300 stores.

Interim Acting CEO Marty Staff said the decision to "realign" was difficult, but the remaining retail and partner shops will continue on as the company explores licensing and wholesale opportunities and expanding Its digital reach.

The Connecticut stores are located at 1500 New Britain Ave. in West Hartford and 20 Killingworth Turnpike in Clinton.

The store closing sales are being conducted by a joint venture of Hilco Merchant Resources and Gordon Brothers.
