KPMG's Daugherty to lead Hartford office

Thomas Daugherty has been named managing partner of the Hartford office of audit and tax advisor KPMG LLP.

Effective April 1, Daugherty replaces Rich Caporaso, who has been managing partner in Hartford since 2008.

In his new role, Daugherty will be responsible for the strategic direction and continued growth of the Hartford office. Daugherty will continue to serve as a partner in KPMG's financial services practice, where he works primarily with insurance industry clients.

Daugherty has been in the Hartford office since 1985 and was named a partner in 1997. He also has worked in KPMG offices in New York City, Richmond, Columbus and Munich, Germany. In the community, he sits on the board of The Village for Families & Children and supports many other local charities.

Caporaso will continue to serve as lead partner on one of the firm's largest insurance industry clients and will continue his involvement in industry and community organizations in the Hartford area.

Daugherty is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University, where he holds a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is a licensed CPA in Connecticut and New York.
