CTtransit linking to Storrs

CTtransit is adding UConn's Storrs campus as a regular stop in its regional bus-transit network, widening central Connecticut's accessibility to the flagship state university.

Starting next Wednesday, state-run CTtransit will offer regular daily service to and from several points in and around UConn's downtown Hartford campus that debuts later this month, terminating at UConn's campus in the Storrs section of Mansfield, state transportation officials and the governor said Thursday. CTtransit already serves Farmington, home to UConn Health Center, and several points east of the Connecticut River.

UConn students can ride free with valid ID and a "UPass'' purchased through the school.

The UConn route will operate weekdays and weekends, linking the health center and eight more stops to the town's Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center in Storrs.
