CareCentrix taps software developer for predicting post-acute care

Hartford-based CareCentrix has formed a strategic development alliance with a software developer to use machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the best options for post-acute care and thus lower cost.

"We are using advanced algorithms to transform how post-acute care is delivered," CareCentrix CEO John Driscoll said of his company's arrangement with Nevada-based Owned Outcomes.

Driscoll said the software helps CareCentrix provide the proper care at a lower cost.

"By combining predictive analytics with our expertise to help patients once they leave the hospital, we can get them home faster and more safely," Driscoll said. "This translates into millions of dollars in potential savings for our health plan clients."

Terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
