PE firm invests in SCA Pharma's Windsor facility

A New York-based private equity firm is investing an undisclosed sum to help help Little Rock, Ark.-based SCA Pharmaceuticals "accelerate" development of a new 90,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Windsor, the companies announced Thursday.

SCA Pharmaceuticals already has an $8.5 million loan from the state of Connecticut for the project, which a spokesperson in Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's project says recently garnered bonding approval. The company specializes in preparing sterile pharmaceuticals customized for hospitals, pharmacies and healthcare facilities.

SCA is receiving additional capital from Enhanced Healthcare Partners. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

SCA, through a spokesperson, said it is aiming to open its new facility in the fourth quarter of this year.

No further details were available on the project.
