Tribal casino slots revenues rise in Sept.

The month of September was good to Connecticut's tribal casino operators, which both posted slot revenue increases.

Foxwoods Resort Casino reported slot revenue of $40.1 million in Sept., a 3.8 percent increase compared to $38.6 million in the year-ago period. The amount slot bettors wagered in September, known as the "handle," was $498.8 million, up 4.5 percent from the $477.2 million wagered in Sept. 2016.

Mohegan Sun increased its slot revenue 2 percent for the month to $51.8 million from $50.6 million in the year-ago period. Its handle spiked 9.6 percent to $652.7 million compared to $595.2 million in the year-ago period.
