A nearly 15,000-square-foot industrial condominium in Middletown has sold for $1.85 million, according to Press/Cuozzo Realtors in Hamden.

An undisclosed Fortune 100 company is leasing the building, located at 362 Industrial Park Road, the real estate company said.

The buyer, Blackdot, closed on the sale Oct 27. Joel Nesson, senior commercial advisor for Press/Cuozzo, represented the seller, LV Sakon LLC.

Druber Commercial of Middlebury and Sakon Development of Glastonbury co-brokered the transaction, Press/Cuozzo said.

Car dealership expansion

East Haven's Sound Auto Wholesalers has acquired a Branford property for $865,000 to open a second location, the company said this week.

The used car dealership said it will move its service department and administrative and sales offices to the new spot at 139 W. Main St. in Branford, which formerly housed Birbarie Marine.

The expansion will allow Sound Auto to grow its inventory from roughly 125 cars to more than 200, the company said.

"We have simply outgrown our present location," owner Daniel Merriam said in a statement. "Although we would have preferred to acquire enough space to be all under one roof, there simply was not an adequately sized parcel available."

The new location is about a mile east of the current dealership at 14 Frontage Road in East Haven.

The company said it plans to renovate the front of the Birbarie Marine building and replace the back portion with a new structure. A second building on the upper level of the property will be retained as a service building.

The facility is expected to open in April 2018.
