The U.S. Air Force has boosted its order of warplane bomb fuzes by $17 million with Bloomfield aeroparts maker Kaman Corp.

Kaman said Tuesday the contract modification boosts the value of its latest segment to more than $102 million, all of which was in backlog as of New Year's Eve 2017.

Since 2002, Kaman has been the sole source of joint programmable fuzes for fighter and bomber fleets for the Air Force and 26 U.S. allies.

The fuzes are made in Kaman plants in Middletown, Conn., and Orlando, Fla.
