Cromwell's Ripley Tools LLC has acquired a New Hampshire maker of fiber-optic testing equipment.

Ripley's Avon parent, Ironwood Capital, announced the deal with Optical Design Manufacturing Inc., of Laconia, N.H. Price wasn't disclosed.

As recently reported, Ripley makes and sells cable cutters, splicers and other preparation tools to the electric-power transmission-distribution, cable-TV and telecommunications sectors in the U.S., Asia and Europe.

Ripley officials said ODM's testing equipment complements Ripley's Miller brand fiber-optic cutters and preparation-tool lineup.
