W. Hartford senior services nonprofit CEO Fiocchetta to retire

William J. Fiocchetta, president and CEO of West Hartford's Mercy Community, which offers senior care services, will retire July 1.

Fiocchetta has led the nonprofit since 2005.

The nonprofit's parent, Trinity Health Senior Communities, has been conducting a national search for a leader of its senior living communities within the New England region.

"When Catholic Health East and Trinity Health first joined forces as one company in 2013, Bill was instrumental in aligning senior services for the East Coast Region and, as that region continued to expand, Bill's knowledge and expertise was invaluable," said Steven Kastner, president and CEO of Trinity Health Senior Communities.

Fiocchetta has worked in senior living services in the Hartford area as well as Albuquerque, N.M., for more than 40 years, Kastner said.

The Mercy Community includes St. Mary Home, which provides rehabilitation services; The McAuley, a life plan community that promotes independent living; and Mount St. Joseph Residence and Rehabilitation in Waterville, Maine.

Kastner expects to announce a successor later this year.
