Manchester store removed from Toys 'R' Us closure list

Retailer Toys 'R' Us, which is in the midst of a Ch. 11 bankruptcy case, this week trimmed the number of stores it intends to close, including two in Connecticut.

Late last month, the company announced it would shutter 182 stores across its U.S. retail footprint.

But it has since removed more than a dozen of those stores, including Babies 'R' Us in Manchester and a combination location in Waterbury.

WFSB first noticed the change on Thursday.

Newington and North Haven locations remain on the closure list.

Toys 'R' Us says "additional negotiations" led to the changes, but did not elaborate.

It's unclear if any further changes to closure plans could take place.
