New Haven software firm to implement safety management programs in Canadian airports

New Haven-based software company Veoci said Monday it has partnered with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation to create a safety management system for 29 remote airports in the Canadian province.

Also known as Grey Wall Software, the company helps governments, universities, hospitals and other organizations communicate and respond during crisis situations through its cloud-based Veoci software platform (which stands for Virtual Emergency Operations Center on the Internet).

The company said its system will allow the airports, located in some of the province's most northern communities, to share data and manage inspection and safety processes more efficiently.

As the only reliable transportation system servicing the remote areas, the airports are crucial during emergencies, said Veoci, whose clients also include the city of New Haven and Yale.

Founded in 2011 by a group of former GE employees, the company opened a new headquarters in the former New Haven Savings Bank building at 195 Church Street last summer.
