Hartford Business Improvement District wins $50K grant

The Hartford Business Improvement District received a $50,000 grant from the United Bank Foundation in Hartford. The grant will help support initiatives including the Clean & Safe Ambassador program.

The Walmart Foundation recently awarded Chrysalis Center a $25,000 grant in support of its Freshplace program, a fresh food pantry in Hartford. The program serves 350 low-income residents per year.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded Trinity College $800,000 over three years to support four interrelated initiatives that will advance inclusive excellence in the arts, humanities, and digital scholarship.

The Connecticut Food Bank announced a $50,000 grant from the Morgan Stanley Foundation to fund its Kids' BackPack Program, which helps to ensure students who are at risk of hunger continue to receive nutritious food on weekends, when they do not have access to school meal programs.

KeyBank Foundation donated $25,000 to Hartford LISC to support its mission of helping community residents transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy and sustainable communities.

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving is awarding a three-year, $297,925 innovation grant to the Hartford Public Library to support its Crossroads to Connectivity Project, which will support efforts to narrow the digital divide in Hartford.

A $10,000 grant from the Connecticut Community Foundation will support the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness in serving homeless and housing unstable youth.
