InterCommunity brings medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction to E. Hartford

InterCommunity Inc. is now offering medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for qualified patients in recovery for opioid addiction at its East Hartford community health center.

The center, at 281 Main St., is the second InterCommunity clinic to offer MAT. InterCommunity began offering MAT at its Hartford clinic, 16 Coventry St., in 2016.

With consultation from an InterCommunity provider, patients are prescribed Suboxone and monitored through the addiction recovery process.

"Extending our MAT services to our East Hartford location allows us to reach more patients in need of these essential services," said Tracey Decker, chief integration officer at InterCommunity. "Our MAT clinical staff has helped numerous patients in their recovery from opioid addiction."

The nonprofit InterCommunity provides primary, mental health and addiction recovery services at 16 locations in Greater Hartford.
