Ninth Hartford Healthcare-GoHealth Urgent Care center to open

The ninth and latest Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care will open Monday, this time in West Hartford at Bishop's Corner.

The urgent care facility, 336 N. Main St., is next to Whole Foods Market.

The joint venture, announced last year, combines Hartford HealthCare (HHC) and GoHealth Urgent Care, a Georgia-based outpatient developer that has similar partnerships with other health systems across the country. Jeffrey Flaks, HHC's president and chief operating officer, previously described the partnership as a dramatic expansion for HHC in urgent care, with plans for up to 15 centers.

The joint venture's website lists centers yet to come in New London, Enfield, Norwich and Windsor.

The newest urgent care center will be operate 365 days a year, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Centers treat common, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries; offer preventative health services that include vaccinations, flu shots and physicals; and X-ray equipment and a lab, combined with an integrated electronic medical record system that can be accessed by caregivers across HHC.
