A West Hartford-based association of independent home design professionals is unveiling a new TV and digital marketing campaign to excite renovators about making home improvements this spring.

The Home Design District announced Wednesday it plans to launch the new campaign that promotes and brands the 20 or so companies in West Hartford's Elmwood section that provide home design and improvement goods and services.

The campaign begins Thursday, featuring TV spots on WVIT-NBC, an updated website, a social media campaign and new marketing materials. The timing is in conjunction with the start of the spring homebuying season, in which realtors have said they are optimistic about a potential active year.

"Our goal is to become the go-to destination for home improvement and design seekers in Connecticut," Home Design District President Cathy Davis said. "We know that people are looking for the convenience of a big box store, but they also want a distinct look that sets their home apart from their neighbors."

The association, which has 19 members, wouldn't disclose how much its spending on the ad campaign.
