Hartford InsurTech taps Clyde & Co. as legal partner

Hartford's InsurTech Hub, which is working to woo startups to the Capital City that can work with the region's insurers, announced Thursday it is forming a new collaboration with international law firm Clyde & Co.

The London-based law firm will act as InsurTech's legal partner, providing startups in the program with guidance on how to address legal issues.

Hartford's InsurTech program is run by Startupbootcamp, which is also based in London.

Vikram Sidhu, a partner at Clyde & Co., said the firm will provide legal mentoring on insurance regulation and corporate matters to help Hartford startups navigate "laws and regulations as they launch their dreams."

The news comes on the heels of InsurTech's recently announced partnership with independent claims management company, Crawford & Co. The pair join a list of other well-known companies working with Hartford InsurTech Hub, including Cigna, The Hartford, Travelers, USAA and White Mountains.
