Trio to head Access Health CT during CEO search

Access Health CT announced Tuesday an interim leadership group will take over the state's health insurance exchange on April 6, following the departure of CEO Jim Wadleigh, who led the organization for three years.

The new team will include Chief Operating Officer Shan Jeffreys, Director of Finance James Michel and Director of Human Resources Melinda Brayton.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, who chairs Access Health CT's board, thanked the team for their leadership during the group's ongoing search for Wadleigh's replacement.

"Jim Wadleigh leaves a strong legacy and commitment to outreach — and that will continue with this new leadership team," Wyman said. "Our first priority is the health of Connecticut residents; that is unchanged."

The new officers said Access Health CT will maintain its service for all employees, customers and Connecticut residents.

The board of directors will oversee the search for a permanent CEO, they said.
