The Hartford Yard Goats will play three games as "Los Chivos de Hartford" in a nod to Connecticut's latino population, the team announced Tuesday.

The name, which translates from Spanish to "the Goats of Hartford," is part of Minor League Baseball's inaugural Copa de la Diversion campaign to celebrate MiLB's diverse fanbase.

The Yard Goats, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, will play as Los Chivos de Hartford on June 2, July 17 and Aug. 24. The August promotion will also coincide with the organization's annual Roberto Clemente Celebration game.

Players will wear speciality jerseys and caps during the games, and all in-stadium promotions at Dunkin' Donuts Park will maintain the Los Chivos brand.

"The Yard Goats have led the charge in recognizing our large Latino fan base" said Yard Goats General Manager Mike Abramson.

Kurt Hunzeker, Minor League Baseball's Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Research, said the league received praise last year for several diversity promotions, including "'It's Fun to Be a Fan" and "Es Divertido Ser Un Fan."

Tickets are on sale on the Yard Goats website here.
