Lincoln Tech placing CT grads in jobs

The operator of Lincoln Tech vocational-technical training schools is teaming with building-systems maker Johnson Controls to place Lincoln grads from its campuses in Connecticut and other states into jobs.

Lincoln Educational Services Corp., of West Orange, N.J., and Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls announced their career-placement partnership Thursday.

Graduates from Lincoln's heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and electrical and electronic systems technology training programs at 10 U.S. campuses, including in East Windsor, New Britain and Shelton, are eligible for placement with Johnson Controls, officials said.

Johnson Controls makes intelligent-building systems for controlling interior climate and energy usage.

Lincoln Tech's other eligible training centers are in Columbia, Md.; Denver; Indianapolis; Mahwah and Union, N.J.; Marietta, Ga; and Melrose Park, Ill.

Lincoln Tech CEO Scott Shaw said partnering with Johnson Controls demonstrates the school's commitment to helping students and employers alike overcome the skills gap that exists in many hands-on industries today.

This is Lincoln's second employer partnership announced in as many months.

In Jan., Lincoln Tech and Hussmann Refrigeration, a Missouri maker of chilled display cases for retail stores, pledged to put Lincoln HVAC and electric-electronics grads to work.
