Cromwell home healthcare provider part of national merger

A Cromwell home healthcare provider says it recently merged with two companies in an effort to become one of the nation's largest homecare providers.

National Home Health Care of Cromwell is joining forces with Texas-based Jordan Health Services and Michigan's Great Lakes Caring, creating a 15-state homecare provider serving more than 63,000 patients in 221 locations.

The group, retaining headquarters in Connecticut, Texas and Michigan, will employ more than 31,000 employees and caregivers nationwide. Great Laking Caring CEO Adam Nielsen said the merger creates one of the country's largest home healthcare employers.

National Home Health Care CEO G. Scott Herman will lead the enterprise.

Officials said the companies will continue providing patients personal care, skilled home healthcare and hospice care.

New England Home Care, a National Home Health Care company in Connecticut, serves 4,900 patients across the state at locations in Cromwell, New Haven, Shelton, Waterbury and Windsor.
