CT marijuana-patient rolls higher in '18

The number of registered medical-marijuana patients in Connecticut continues to grow this year, according to the program's overseer, the Department of Consumer Protection (DCP).

Between Dec. 2017 and May 6, an additional 3,730 patients registered with DCP. That's up 16.7 percent, from 22,348 in Dec, the agency said.

The number of registered medical providers in the marijuana program has also grown over that time, from 807 to 887, according to DCP data.

DCP's board of physicians has now approved 28 total health conditions that can qualify patients for a marijuana certification
