Payrailz launched in Nov. 2017.

Glastonbury digital-payments vendor Payrailz says it inked a deal to offer a Massachusetts tech firm's bill-reduction service to Payrailz's bank and credit union clients and their customers.

Payrailz announced Wednesday a partnership with Billshark, of Hopkinton, Mass., which uses negotiations and cancellations to enable consumers to lower their bills for wireless, internet, utility, home-security and cable-TV and other telecom services.

Payrailz CEO Fran Duggan, a co-founder and former executive of another Connecticut digital-payments vendor, Payveris in Wethersfield, said the Billshark partnership adds value to its automated-payments network as well as to banks and credit unions and their customers. Financial and other terms were not disclosed.

"We are continually searching for new ways to add value and reduce friction in the payment experience for consumers," Duggan said in a statement. "By building bill negotiation into the payment process, banks and credit unions have yet another tool at their disposal to improve their user experience, all while reinforcing their reputations as trusted financial partners."

Payrailz launched in Nov. 2017 with a business model focused on rethinking and automating the payments process.

"We look forward to helping Payrailz deliver on their vision of reinventing the way the banking and financial services industry approaches the payment experience," Billshark co-founder Steve McKean said.
