WorldTek merges with NYC firm, acquires LI company

New York City-based events management firm Fourth Wall Events has merged with WorldTek Events, a company with New Haven roots and an office in Glastonbury.

The combined company recently acquired a third firm, Long Island, N.Y.-based McVeigh Associates, and changed its name to McVeigh Global Meetings and Events LLC, officials announced recently.

Fourth Wall Events President Jeff Guberman has been named CEO of the new company, who said existing leadership and account teams will remain in place. Financial terms were not disclosed.

"We are very excited to bring some of the best people in the industry together," Guberman said in a statement. "We can now provide the quality and diversity of services to help our clients use live meetings and events to achieve their business goals."

Under the deal, the new company will be headquartered in New York City but will keep the Glastonbury office, a company spokesman said. Additional offices are located in Long Island, Miami, San Diego, Washington, D.C. and Montreal, Canada.

WorldTek previously had a New Haven office but it closed prior to the merger, the spokesman said.

The newly formed company will specialize in meeting and convention management, air travel management, hotel sourcing, association management services, event production and more, according to its website.

Woodbridge International, a global mergers and acquisitions firm based in Woodbridge, represented McVeigh Associates in the transaction.

Clarification: The Worldtek Events involved in the merger is not affiliated with WorldTek Events & Travel Management in Shelton, a company that services Yale University, Timex, Assa Abloy, IMG and Mary Kay Cosmetics and has been in business since 1966. The Shelton-based WorldTek is still in full operation as a corporate travel agency.
