Hartford Athletic, the city's new professional soccer club, will host several stars from Brazil's World Cup team Friday for a public meet-and-greet, soccer clinic, and exhibition match at the University of Hartford.

Hartford Sports Group, the United Soccer League team's owner, announced Wednesday that it partnered with Champions Experience and UHart to host Brazilian national team stars Douglas Costa, Thaisa Moreno and Monica Hickmann. Costa competes for Italy's Juventus top-division squad.

The clinic takes place from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., followed by the meet-and-greet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at UHart's Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium, 200 Bloomfield Ave, in West Hartford. The exhibition match follows at 7:30 p.m.

Hartford Athletic is slated to begin professional play next spring at the city's Dillon Stadium, which is preparing to undergo a $10 million, state-funded upgrade to accommodate the team, fans and the community.
