John L. Hopkins named president and CEO of Post U.

Post University in Waterbury has named John L. Hopkins president and CEO following the retirement of President Donald Mroz. As CEO, Hopkins led Post's recent rebranding initiative and commitment to delivering a personal education, as well as the university's pending move of more than 400 higher education associates and professionals to downtown Waterbury. His newly combined title reflects a reorganization of Post's senior administrative leadership.

Michael Kingan has been named vice president for institutional advancement at Southern Connecticut State University. He will oversee development, integrated communications and marketing and alumni relations. He will also serve as executive director of the SCSU Foundation. Kingan was previously vice president for development and alumni relations at the University of Texas/Arlington. Kingan earned a master of public affairs degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BA in political science from Austin College in Sherman, Tex.

The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) has appointed Matthew J. Auth, CPA, of North Haven, a member-at-large of its advisory council for the organization's 2018-19 year. Auth is a tax senior manager for Ernst & Young in Stamford. He holds a BS in accounting from the University of Connecticut and a master's in taxation from Bentley University.

Guilford biopharmaceutical developer Bioasis Technologies Inc. has named John E. Curran, CPA and David M. Wurzer, CPA as directors, filling two vacancies on the board. Curran recently retired as a partner in the Hartford office of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Wurzer is executive vice president and chief investment officer at Connecticut Innovations Inc.
