Following shooting, Mutualink deepens Fla. customer base

Wallingford-based Mutualink said a Florida county school system has approved funding to use its school safety communications platform, designed to provide real-time coordination between law enforcement and educators during an emergency.

Lake County's school board follows in the footsteps of three other of Florida's 67 counties. Mutualink said it also counts Florida hospitals and colleges among its customers.

The company did not disclose financial terms.

Southern Florida's city of Parkland was the site of a February school shooting that killed 17 people and injured others.

Mutualink said that publicly reported information about the shooting has shown that first responders were not able to communicate by radio inside the school.
