The Hampton Inn & Suites on Sawmill Road in West Haven is under new ownership.

The 98-room hotel, just off Exit 42 from I-95, has been acquired by New York-based MCR, which owns some 94 hotels in 24 states. The seller was Blackstone Real Estate, also headquartered in New York. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition represents a return to the Connecticut marketplace for MCR. It previously owned Milford's Hilton Garden Inn, but sold the property last year to American Hotel Income Properties, a Vancouver, B.C.-based real estate investment trust, according to the New Haven Register.

MCR has ownership stakes in hospitality properties housing more than 11,000 rooms in 67 cities.
