On behalf of her family, Lauren Tagliatela accepted the chamber's Community Leadership Award Thursday at the Omni New Haven Hotel.

The Tagliatela family, developers and owners of the Franklin Communities apartment complexes in New Haven, Hamden and North Haven, received the 2018 Community Leadership Award from the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce at the business group's annual Business Leadership Awards Luncheon Thursday at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale.

Through the Louis F. and Mary A, Tagliatela Foundation the family has made a number of substantial gifts to the community, including the Tagliatela School of Engineering at the University of New Haven and the Tagliatela School of Business and Leadership at Albertus Magnus College.

Other chamber honorees included New Haven boutique owner Kimberly Pedrick (Small Business Achievement, Assa Abloy (Achievement in Manufacturing), NHR Group (Developer Investment), Health Haven Hub (Technology Innovation) and Red Rock Branding principal Glen McDermott (Volunteer of the Year).

Also, the University of New Haven School of Health Sciences (Leadership in Health Care) and KeyBank (Community Partnership, with the New Haven Public Schools).

About 500 people attended the annual event, which was sponsored by ConnectiCare and TD Bank.
