Post U. offers Baldrige business scholarship

Post University this month began accepting student applications for a four-year, full-tuition scholarship named in honor of the late Malcolm Baldrige, namesake of the Waterbury university's business school who served as U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 1981 to 1987.

Winners of the Malcolm Baldrige Scholarship to enroll at the university's main campus will be announced March 1, 2019. The deadline for submitting completed applications to the Office of Main Campus Admissions is Feb. 1. Students can request a scholarship application by sending an e-mail request to

"Offering this coveted scholarship to deserving students is a fitting salute to the selfless commitment that Malcolm Baldrige made to public service," said Post President and CEO John L. Hopkins.

Eligibility for the Malcolm Baldrige Scholarship is limited to full-time students who have at least a 3.65 grade-point average and an SAT composite score of 1160 or an ACT score of 24. Other eligibility criteria apply.

Applications must include a personal resume, two letters of recommendation from a teacher, employer or other person that address the applicant's academic abilities, and a 500-word essay on the concept of "quality" with respect to organizations, individuals or both.

Students can remain eligible for the Malcolm Baldrige Scholarship each year by maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and remaining a full-time residential student pursuing a degree at the Malcolm Baldrige School of Business at Post University.
