Downtown Hartford's inventory of multi-family housing has added more than five dozen new units with the debut of living units for lease or sale in a pair of residential buildings overlooking or near Bushnell Park.

At 370 Asylum St., the previously vacant six-story office building known as Teachers Village has begun leasing its 64 units, which include studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.

According to leasing agent Kristen Vibberts, of Imagineers, the building's manager, 16 of the mixed-income units have been leased for occupancy slated as early as December. RBH Group is the developer.

Monthly rents begin at $747 for a 599-square-foot studio; one-bedrooms start at $800; and $1,200 to start for two-bedrooms. Teachers get a 10 percent discount.

An open house is set for Nov. 15, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Just up the block, at 289 Asylum St., The Hartford Lofts has priced at least two of its eight two-bedroom condominiums for sale at $235,000 and $244,000 each, according to an online sales flyer from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties.

Broker Becky Koladis says marketing has begun for the two completed units on the second floor and will progress to units on the higher floors as they are completed within the next six months.

The condos occupy the upper floors of a century-old building that was home to several former bar-restaurants, including Mayor Mike's Restaurant.

A window sign indicates a new restaurant is coming to the building's ground floor.
