Sales and prices for houses and condos fell statewide in October, new data shows.

A total 2,868 single-family dwellings sold across Connecticut last month vs. 2,961 sold in Oct. 2017 -- a 3.1 percent decline, according to Boston business-news publisher The Warren Group.

Meanwhile, the median single-family house price was flat $247,000.

For condominiums/townhomes, their October sales fell 0.9 percent to 843 closings vs. 851 done a year earlier. Their median also fell less than 1 percent, to $155,000.

"The declining sales numbers for both single-family homes and condos isn't surprising based on recent trends," said Warren Group CEO Timothy Warren. "This is the third consecutive month that single-family homes have declined year-over-year, and the second consecutive month for condos on the same basis."
