Donna Staples of Wallingford has been named president of Makiaris Media, a major media consulting company in Middletown. Staples, longtime director of media services at the company, takes the helm from retiring President John Scully.

"In accepting the reins as the new president of Makiaris Media, I look forward to building upon John Scully's leadership in creating and implementing the right strategic, custom media plans for our clients," Staples said. "I am very excited that Irene Makiaris provided me this opportunity for continued growth within the company."

The 32-year-old media consulting firm also recently launched new branding and a new website.

"What sets us apart is our dedication and commitment – we never stop learning and armed with that knowledge and experience we are able to seize the best opportunities in traditional and digital media – always negotiating from a position of knowledge." founder Irene Makiaris said.

Makiaris Media is one of the largest media buying firms between New York and Boston.
