Avon Place apts. sold at $24M

The Avon Place Apartments.

The 164-unit Avon Place Apartments have been sold for $24 million, brokers say.

The 45-year-old community, formerly Avon Mill, is comprised of three buildings and a clubhouse at 46 Avonwood Road, near Albany Turnpike/Route 44, atop more than 46 acres.The average unit size is 1,165 square feet.

Its companion community, the 188-unit Avon Place Condominiums, was not part of the sale, according to the Institutional Property Advisors' (IPA) brokerage unit of Marcus & Millichap.

The Avon town clerk records show the seller was GAIA Avon Place LLC. IPA identified the buyer as The Clairmont Group LLC.
