Orchard House names new executive director

Orchard House Medical Adult Day Center in Branford has hired Mary-Margaret Mandel as executive director. Mandel will officially begin her position Jan. 28.

Most recently, Mandel was director of residence services at the Mary Wade Home in New Haven, where she was responsible for overall leadership of the residence-service organization as well as developing and implementing programs and building partnerships within the community.

Before that she served as quality assurance director for United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Connecticut in Wallingford, and with the ARC of Greater New Haven in Hamden.

She holds a bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University and a certificate of paralegal studies from the National Academy of Paralegal Studies.

Alan Siegal, MD, has joined the advisory board of Ketoned Bodies. Siegal will also be approving ingredients and meals offered under the Ketoned Bodies brands. Siegal is an associate clinical professor at the Yale School of Medicine, and an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is also director of the Geriatric & Adult Psychiatry Clinical Care and Research Center with offices in Hamden and Wilton.

Siegal earned his MD from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his residency in psychiatry and fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine.
