Gateway C.C. dean Luna retires

Gateway Community College Dean of Student Affairs Wilson Luna, Ed.D. retired on Feb. 28, concluding a 34-year career in the state's higher education system.

As dean of student affairs, Luna oversaw enrollment management, GCC's Center for Educational Services, and Student Engagement and Career Services.

Luna will continue as a member of the board of directors of the Gateway Community College Foundation Inc.

Luna earned his bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University, master's degree from the University of Bridgeport and his Ed.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

New Haven software developer Device42 has named two new members to its board of directors.

Dan Phillips spent five years as CEO and chairman of the board of CloudHealth Technologies, a technology company in the fast-growing emerging sector of cloud-service management.

Darren Battistoni is a managing director at Charlesbank Capital Partners and has extensive experience in the cloud management and infrastructure sectors. Most recently Battistoni served on the board of Logicworks, a leading cloud automation and managed services company.

Device42, which develops software that automatically and agentlessly "discovers" the entire IT infrastructure, just completed a recapitalization, securing $34 million to accelerate growth.

Edgewell Personal Care Co. announced that Daniel J. Sullivan will join the company as chief financial officer. He succeeds Rod R. Little, who was appointed president and chief executive officer, effective March 1. Sullivan most recently was chief financial officer of Party City, a publicly traded, global business, where he oversaw finance, business development and investor relations and helped develop and execute the company's omni-channel growth and M&A strategies. He holds a BS in accounting and economics from Duquesne University.

Headquartered in Shelton, Edgewell is a consumer-products company with a portfolio of brand names such as Schick and Wilkinson Sword men's and women's razors; Edge and Skintimate shave preparations; Playtex, Stayfree, Carefree and o.b. feminine care products; and others.
