Hartford's Chango Rosa restaurant at 1 Union Place will close March 30.

The Bear's Restaurant Group, which operates several eateries in Greater Hartford, said it will close its Chango Rosa restaurant at Hartford's Union Station next week.

In a statement on its website, the restaurant group, which owns Bear's Smokehouse BBQ in downtown Hartford, said the Latin American restaurant will close Saturday, March 30, less than two years after it opened at 1 Union Place in June 2017.

The group said it plans to continue selling Chango Rosa's signature drinks and dishes, including tacos, nachos and enchiladas, throughout the Bear's Restaurant Group for catering offerings and at food truck events. Chango Rosa's drinks and meals will also be available at The Blind Pig Pizza Co. in downtown Hartford at 89 Arch St.

"We would like to take the opportunity to thank the city of Hartford and all of the wonderful people who have shown their support over the last…" 22 months, the restaurant said in the announcement.

Purchased gift cards are fully redeemable through March 30 at Chango Rosa or at any Bear's Smokehouse (Hartford, Windsor or South Windsor) or Blind Pig Pizza (Hartford and New Haven) locations.
