Webster taps ex-WellPoint exec for HSA Bank

Waterbury-based Webster Bank has named a fomer WellPoint executive as national sales leader at its healthcare savings account unit.

HSA Bank named Susan Nelson as senior vice president-national sales director. Nelson will manage HSA's national sales team and be responsible for developing the bank's strategic sales initiatives.

She will be based in Wisconsin.

Most recently, Nelson was regional vice president of sales at Coventry Health Care, a national managed healthcare company. Prior to Coventry, she was the executive director of commercial products and sales for Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Nelson also previously served as corporate sales director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wisconsin and Nevada group sales director for WellPoint, parent of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Connecticut.

Nelson has an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and has completed executive leadership programs through both the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Duke University. She is also active in the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement where she is currently on the Executive Leadership Team.
