$1 Million Plus from PGA Tourney

11/23/09

The 2009 Travelers Championship generated $1,080,000 for charity, which will benefit more than 130 charities throughout the state. The donations represent an increase of more than 40 percent from the tournament’s 2008 contributions. Primary beneficiaries of the funds are the Travelers Championship co-charities, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and the Greater Hartford Jaycees. In addition, more than 130 organizations benefited from the tournament’s fundraising programs — Birdies For Charity presented by J.H. Cohn LLP and Chip In For Charity — which provide an opportunity for every nonprofit in the state to utilize the tournament as a fundraiser. Cohn LLP.
