Hartford maintenance firm realigns top ranks

03/16/10

FM Facility Maintenance has promoted a senior officer from within and hired a second from outside as the Hartford restaurant and retail cleaning-handyman services firm jockeys to boost business this year.

Veteran insider Michael Hyman was named senior vice president and chief business development officer. He previously was senior vice president in charge of sales and marketing.

His replacement as senior vice president and chief sales and marketing officer is Jay Leyden, who previously worked at Allied Waste.

FM Facility Chairman Jim Barnes said in a statement that the moves "position us well for increased growth and the opportunity to provide a new and unique set of services offerings."

FM Facility is a sort of corporate handyman, providing services from everything to interior cleaning to changing locks to snow removal. Its more than 30,000 customers nationwide include ExxonMobil, Goodyear Tires and 7-Eleven convenience stores.

FM Facility's sister company is East Hartford-based Oakleaf Waste.
