Carrier cools $30M China contract

08/20/10

Farmington refrigeration leader Carrier Corp. will provide up to $30 million in energy efficiency equipment to a renowned real estate enterprise in China.

The $30-million, one-year contract with the Dalian Wanda Group will include 200 centrifugal chillers and 100 high efficiency screw chillers. The combination of centrifugal and screw chillers will be configured to ensure highly efficient operations under varying load conditions.

All the chillers provided will employ the environmentally sound, non-ozone depleting refrigerant HFC-134a.

"Carrier continues to be focused on product quality and leadership in energy efficient solutions for the buildings industry," said Ross Shuster, president, Carrier Asia, in a statement. "Our relationship with the Dalian Wanda Group is another demonstration to our customers of Carrier's expertise in sustainable building solutions."

The Dalian Wanda Group, founded in 1988, provides commercial real estate, luxury hotels and department stores in more than 50 Chinese cities.

Carrier is unit of United Technologies Corp. in Hartford.
