CRIS RADIO RAISES FUNDS

10/04/10

CRIS Radio, the “talking newsstand” for the blind and disabled, held its 13th annualAcc03_CRIS-Golf_WEB Golf Classic recently at Manchester Country Club. Pictured are, from the left, Hartford attorney Devin Dingler; Kevin Moore, communications director with the Hartford law firm Moore Leonhardt & Associates; Scott Haney, WFSB meteorologist ; Wayne Mulligan, retired WDRC executive, and WCCC’s Boyd Arnold, president of Marlin Broadcasting New England Region. Duby McDowell, political analyst for WFSB and owner of her own consultancy, served as honorary chair of the event which raised money for the nonprofit. Nancy Bulkeley, community affairs specialist of Dominion, the title sponsor, took home the “closest to the pin” prize. Nearly 400 volunteers read from local, state and national newspapers and magazines daily, providing thousands of state residents who are vision-impaired or unable to handle printed material with access to publications that most individuals take for granted.
