Francis J. "Fran'' Brady, partner in the Hartford law firm Murtha Cullina LLP, is president of the Connecticut Bar Association for 2009-2010, effective July 1.
He was the membership's choice for the post at their recent annual meeting.
Brady, of West Granby, has been practicing since 1973, focusing on insurance coverage, securities and environmental litigation. He was a member of the association's State Bar Examining Committee from 2001 to 2006, and is a past president of the Hartford County Bar Association.
Brady also served as Windsor's mayor from 1994 to 1997.
He is a 1967 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has a law degree from George Washington University and a master of laws degree from Harvard University.
