AARP Connecticut, a nonprofit with nearly 600,000 members, has appointed Cheshire resident Wayne Detzler as its new volunteer state president. Detzler is resident chaplain at Elim Park in Cheshire, where he also helped found the retirement community’s post-acute care and rehabilitation program.

The Collins Cos., an East Windsor-based industrial distributor of pipe, valves and fittings and engineered specialties serving the Northeast, has hired Tom Mason as territory sales manager for eastern Connecticut and eastern Massachusetts. Mason previously worked in sales for Collins from 2004 to 2013.
