Keith Bernier is a district executive for Webster Bank’s Midwest Connecticut district. Bernier has been with Webster for over 18 years. He started as a part-time teller, quickly moving up and through every position within the banking center to his current role for the last four years.
In his current position, Bernier is responsible for customer satisfaction and retention; revenue generation; banker performance and development for 17 offices and over 100 employees.
What’s been your biggest professional/work accomplishment so far in your career?
I led my teams through unprecedented changes in 2020 as we temporarily adopted drive-through banking with lobby by appointment, quarantined teams, remote coaching and adapted digital meeting platforms — all while being remote. It was critical I remained positive to keep my teams engaged, checking on team morale frequently.
How are you involved in the community?
I am an active volunteer and board member for the United Way and serve on the executive committee as second vice chair for the United Way of West Central Connecticut. I am also the current vice president for the Tunxis Community College Foundation Board.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and exploring many of the great hiking areas in Connecticut, boating along the Connecticut River or checking out new dining locations to support the many great local restaurants nearby with friends and family.
