Andrew Filler helped broker one of the largest deals in Hartford over the past year, which involved Hartford HealthCare’s 83,000-square-foot lease, with continued expansion, at 100 Pearl St.
Filler is a principal at brokerage and advisory firm Avison Young’s Hartford office and he’s been in the industry since 1987, starting out as a project manager for a major developer, The Casle Corp. in Avon, before transitioning into brokerage.
Filler’s long industry experience caught the eye of Avison Young, which tapped him in 2015 to open its Hartford office. He’s also on the executive committee of Avison Young’s New England region.
One of the biggest deals of his career included representing Connecticut Children’s Medical Center’s consolidation and relocation to 10 Columbus Blvd., which involved a 15-year, 126,000-square-foot lease.
He was also involved in the 2019, $70.5 million sale of Hartford’s Gold Building.
One of the biggest changes Filler said he’s seen throughout his career is more people living in downtown Hartford.
“Prior to COVID, I had never seen Hartford as vibrant as it is today, which is due to the increase in downtown residents,” he said. “I think the continued investment in housing and other associated amenities will continue to drive Hartford toward becoming a 24-hour city we can all be proud of.”
