More Information

Winner Category | CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER, Private Company

Bryan Cassidy is the chief information officer and information security officer at Torrington Savings Bank. Cassidy is responsible for providing technology vision and leadership to support banking operations.

In his role, he oversees network infrastructure, application support, information security, data analytics and project management, while also supporting other areas focused on products and services and customer experience.

What have been your biggest professional accomplishments over the past year?

Being recognized and selected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to attend their Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Academy. It was an amazing opportunity to network with information security professionals, intelligence analysts and special agents.

Throughout the CISO Academy, we had candid dialogue on cyber and fraud threats, while reinforcing the importance of the partnership that public and private sectors play in protecting the critical sectors of the United States of America.

When not receiving threat briefings, we were able to spend time touring the FBI Academy to get a glimpse into the intensive training that trainees must go through.

In what ways are you involved in the community?

I serve on the Board for the Shepard Meadows Equestrian Center, which provides equine-assisted services to children, youth, adults and veterans. I also serve as secretary for the town of Burlington’s Economic Development Commission.

I also donate blood every two to three months with the American Red Cross, with 22 pints donated since 2019.

Best way to keep your competitive edge: Not being afraid to innovate and take calculated risks; keep failures small and learn fast from them.

Personal touch in your office: A painting of a tree that my four-year-old son made with his handprints that reads, “No matter how tall I grow, I’ll always look up to you.”
