Earthlight Technologies is a family-owned and operated business based in Ellington, that offers solar, battery backup, electric-vehicle charging and energy efficiency services for homeowners and business owners.
Tell us a bit about your recent accomplishments.
We recently designed and built a net zero energy office and warehouse facility, which will fuel our growth for generations to come. This also gives our employees a state-of-the-art building that reflects all the services we can provide to our customers.
We have also recently collaborated with other contractors to renovate Buckley Elementary School in Manchester, to be the first net zero school in the state, with many more to come.
What are your family values and how do they contribute to your business success?
Whether your last name is Schneider or something else, you are joining the Earthlight family where the common theme is working together, working hard and creating a work environment where we all look forward to coming to work every day.
Built on strong work ethics and Christian values, we strive to treat everyone with respect and give everyone the opportunity to grow and further their careers.
Where do you see your business in the next five years?
We hope to achieve consistent, strategic growth as a company in the next five years to bring our products and services to more people, and encourage them to become energy independent. This means expanding into new territories, while maintaining that local, family-owned feel.
Do you have a business succession plan? If so, what is it?
While we would love our children to take up the reins here at Earthlight, they are not in any way obligated to do so. Each member of the family who works here does so because they enjoy it, not because they have to. We are currently working on a transition plan between first and second generations.
What are your guiding business principles?
At Earthlight, our goal is to provide customers with the highest-quality products, performance, consistency and value. This commitment is rooted deep in our culture and is essential to our continued growth and success.
