Lux Bond & Green is a luxury jewelry store with six locations, including in Glastonbury, West Hartford, Westport, Mohegan Sun casino, Wellesley, Mass., and Boston. It is unique because it operates in a non-commissioned environment.
Tell us a bit about your recent accomplishments.
Our most recent accomplishment was surviving and thriving through the pandemic with our ability to adapt to the needs of our customers.
Online shopping was predicted to eliminate brick-and-mortar stores. Our enduring relationships with customers, staff and our brand partners, the value of our products and services, and our ability to have the customer shop the way they want to in our non-commissioned environment or online, awarded us double-digit growth in revenues.
We are listening, learning and delivering on our core values and the needs of our customers. We have also focused on adding state-of-the-art equipment like laser engraving.
What are your family values and how do they contribute to your business success?
Our family values are reflected in the core values of our company, which include teamwork, communication, respect, integrity, customer service and confidentiality. LBG was founded upon these core values, with a clear mission to care for the well-being of our staff and our local communities.
Where do you see your business in the next five years?
We see it as the premier jeweler in each of our communities for design, quality, value and exceptional customer service with our diamonds, jewelry, watches, gifts and repair services. We aspire for our customers to seamlessly shop and learn in-store or online using smart technology to create an easy and fun shopping experience.
Do you have a business succession plan?
This is a work in progress utilizing knowledge transfer, the leadership within the company and professionals to help us with an appropriate transition from the fourth to fifth generation, which began in January 2023.
What are your guiding business principles?
Our guiding business principles mirror our family values: operate with the highest amount of integrity and respect for our customers, staff and brand partners. ‘Every Box Has a Story,’ a trademark of our family business, perfectly reflects our passion for helping our customers create iconic memories when they give a gift in our distinctive gold box.
We strive to consistently exceed our customers’ expectations every day whether it’s in-store, online or over the phone. Being a part of our customers’ happiest moments is a privilege, and honoring that trust is a driving force in everything we do.
