How are you involved in the community?
I am very active in the community, especially as it relates to bridging cultural divides and generating interest in STEM. Currently, I am a volunteer with HindiUSA where I provide Hindi language lessons to children under the age of 10 so they can begin to communicate with their family members in India, particularly grandparents, who are not fluent in English. I also provide science and math workshops at my local community center to encourage the next generation of the workforce to take an interest in a STEM career.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring local parks and cooking traditional Indian dishes. I also engage in community events, volunteer at cultural organizations and stay connected with friends and family through video calls. It’s a balance of relaxation and cultural connection.
Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty?
• Restructured and modernized the Webster IT team, allowing it to successfully scale as the bank grew.
• A strong advocate for diversity in STEM, my team is over half women!
• I’m a culture champion, constantly celebrating different cultures and opening the minds of those around me.
Fun Fact
I’m an Indian immigrant IT leader who blends Chai breaks with cutting-edge tech innovation.
